Aptly named after the crescent shaped two-mile private beach, Half Moon, a RockResort is the embodiment of classical resort living. Beloved by romantics, sport lovers and families since 1954 when we welcomed our first guests, Half Moon today is considered one of the world’s great resort hotels.
Now in its 60th year and under the same family ownership, Half Moon, a RockResort has justly earned a reputation as one of the finest resort hotels in the world. Located in the parish of St James on the north coast of Jamaica, Half Moon sits amidst a private estate of 400 acres.
The 197 bedrooms and suites and 31 Villas at Half Moon range from the intimate to the grand. They have a uniquely timeless appeal, restful on the eye, comfort at its finest and a style that is inherently Jamaican. Our team of carpenters take inspiration from the elegance of the 18th century as they expertly craft Jamaican mahogany into the furniture that has long been the signature of Half Moon; our seamstresses cut and sew exquisite cloths into curtains and cushions and our upholsters weave their art as they cover our comforting sofas and armchairs. Under the meticulous guidance and eye of Joan Coore, our Design and Decoration Manager, each room or suite is given its own distinct look and feel. In fact, guests could come to Half Moon some 80 times with each visit spent in a different looking room.
