Go Green
Support Sustainable Travel & Tourism
We care about the environment and hope that for many years to come, the Caribbean remains as gorgeous and as pristine as it is today. In order for that to happen the region needs your help. Here are some organizations doing amazing work and offering ways for you to help.
We recently joined one of ASTA's newest programs as a GREEN MEMBER. This new program requires that our office practice "greener" internal operations - and we are. We've gone paperless on almost every transaction, replaced our old computers with more energy efficient products from Apple, and last year's office renovation included only non-toxic paint... just to name a few.
Caribbean Journey proudly recommends many hotels participating in the Green Globe Certification Program. These hotels meet the highest level of environmental standards. You too can make a difference by supporting member hotels! Visit www.GreenGlobe.org for more information.
Sea Turtles are some of my favorite creatures. I am not alone as I have many clients that trek to far and distant beaches just to get one glimpse. The Caribbean Conservation Corporation is currently the leader in Sea Turtle awareness in the region. They have a fantastic Adopt-A-Turtle program. For great pictures and to see if you can help, please visit www.cccturtle.org.
Coral reefs are one of nature's most magnificent creations—filled with thousands of unique and valuable plants and animals. Over one-quarter of all marine species depend on healthy coral reefs. Humans also depend on coral reefs. These marine ecosystems are the primary source of food and income for millions of people, a vast repository of valuable chemical compounds and medicines, and a natural wave barrier that protect beaches and coastlines from waves and storms. Please visit www.CoralReefAlliance.org and donate today.
